Pin Grading and Standard of Quality
Please understand these pins are painstakingly made by hand so some slight variation and irregularity is expected. No pin is going to be 100% perfect!
Please be understanding and respectful to me and the people who work hard on these pins by allowing some very minor and small imperfections. They are only considered non-A-grade if there is an actual mistake or actual damage.
Standard Grade – A-grade pins
These are my very best pins. They are near perfect condition pins that are great for displaying and wearing! There may be very small imperfections that can only be seen in certain lights or at an angle. Examples include a misplaced piece of glitter, a tiny dot of color or dust, a faint scratch or roughness on the metal, slight low fill or blemishes in an area that’s not the focus point. I try very hard to have any flaws in these but since these are hand made it still might occur, but they are still considered A-grade unless there is an actual mistake or actual damage.
A-minus Grade Pins (Almost Standard)
These pins are very close to being A-grade but they are a very slight imperfection, often very hard to notice. However they are not damaged or imperfect enough to be considered b-grade, so we offer these at a slight discount.
B - Grade Pins
Seconds are discounted, b-grade pins are still good quality pins in many ways. These are great for anyone who’s not picky or who likes to wear their pins and you get them at a discount!
I usually only offer these at shows and during sales. These pins are discounted due to flaws. Despite their imperfections, seconds pins are great for wearing on clothing, backpacks, lanyards, hats, etc.
Sometimes, these do not come on backing cards but are shipped in poly bags for their protection. Due to the nature of this product, we do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges. Thanks for understanding.
Examples of defects are:
- Scratching, misprinted spots or streaks
- Small areas of missing enamel/chipped enamel
- Black or colored specks on enamel
- Dirt or smudges in filled areas
- Partially overfilled/under-filled enamel
- Small pores or holes
- Uneven surface
- Minor discoloration
- Looser backings/posts
C - Grade Pins
These are severely imperfect pins but perfect for the right collector or artist.
These pins are majorly discounted due to larger flaws than seconds. C-grades have serious, more sever with visual and noticeable defects than B-grade, that is why they are so heavily discounted. Please beware of this! A lot of people buy these for mixed media art projects.
